About the event
For many BIPOC folks, anger has been pathologized, feared, or weaponized against us. We are often taught to suppress it or to fear its consequences. Yet anger can also be a signal, pointing toward harm, unmet needs, and the deep knowledge of what we deserve.
Inspired by Love and Rage by Lama Rod Owens, this workshop offers space to explore anger with clarity, compassion, and embodiment. Through grounding, intentional movement, breath, and guided meditation, we’ll explore the sensations beneath anger and how it lives in the body. Rather than pushing it away or being overwhelmed by it, we’ll practice staying with anger as information, protection, and potential catalyst.
This practice centers awareness over suppression and agency over judgment. It is not about fixing or erasing anger; it is about learning how to be in relationship with it in ways that support dignity, care, and choice.
